Meadville Independent Business Alliance

The Meadville Independent Business Alliance (MIBA) continued its mission in 2024 to strengthen Greater Downtown Meadville’s independent business community through collaboration, advocacy and engaging events that connect the city’s unique shops, galleries and eateries with residents and visitors alike.

Best known as the driving force behind Experience Meadville’s First Friday events, MIBA brought fresh creativity to the lineup with themes like November’s First Pie-Day, which raffled homemade pies to participants who donated goods to the Center for Family Services.

At the same time, fan-favorite events like the Witch Walk, Ladies Day Out and the Catwalk on Chestnut drew enthusiastic crowds and showcased the vibrant downtown atmosphere.

2024 also marked the launch of ExperienceMeadville. org, a comprehensive website featuring a member directory, event schedule, business resources and an interactive history of the downtown area.

This new digital hub strengthens MIBA’s ability to promote the area’s rich offerings and foster deeper connections within the community.

In 2025, MIBA is setting its sights on delivering even greater value to its members and the broader Meadville community. A revamped membership program now offers expanded perks, including technical assistance and enhanced business resources for general members.

Recognizing the diverse needs of its members, MIBA has also introduced a Season Event Sponsor level for businesses seeking broader publicity opportunities, as well as options for single- event participation and sponsorship.

Advocacy will remain a priority for MIBA as it represents the downtown business community’s collective needs on important issues such as zoning ordinances and public safety. Increased collaboration with partner organizations will further amplify its impact.

As Experience Meadville, MIBA looks forward to an exciting 2025 event schedule that will not only engage larger audiences but also foster a welcoming and inclusive climate.
