County certifies election results

The Crawford County Board of Elections has certified results from the Nov. 7 election with no changes in outcomes in countywide, school board and Meadville City Council races.

Official election results were posted on the Elections and Voter Services page of Crawford County’s website late Monday morning following the Board of Elections’ certification meeting.

The board met publicly at 10 a.m. Monday in the Commissioners’ Office at the Crawford County Courthouse in Meadville to certify and sign the vote count.

For Crawford County commissioner, Republicans Eric Henry and Scott Schell and Democrat Christopher Seeley are the new board in January.

They were the only names on the ballot seeking the three seats.

Henry is an incumbent and current chairman of the board. Schell, the county’s current coroner, and Seeley, a county auditor, both sought new offices as commissioners.

Schell was first in the commissioners’ race with 11,780 votes followed by Henry with 11,756 and Seeley third with 7,582.

There were uncontested races for the countywide offices of coroner, auditor, district attorney, register and recorder, prothonotary and sheriff.

Republican Eric Coston, a physician assistant and current deputy coroner, received 16,989 votes for coroner.

Continued from Page A1 Republicans Kelsey Zimmerman of Randolph Township and Renee Kiser of Saegertown and Democrat Darien Pfaff of Summit Township will be the new three-member board of auditors.

Zimmerman, an incumbent auditor; Kiser, a fiscal assistant in the county treasurer’s office; and Pfaff, a bank teller, were the only candidates. Zimmerman received 12,062 votes; Kiser, 11,698; and Pfaff, 6,611.

District Attorney Paula DiGiacomo, a Republican of Meadville, was elected to a full four-year term with 16,817 votes. DiGiacomo, the county’s former first assistant district attorney, became the district attorney in January 2022 succeeding Francis Schultz, who took office as judge in January 2022.

Register and Recorder Beth Forbes, a Republican from Union Township, won a second term with 16,240 votes.

Prothonotary Emmy Arnett, a Republican of Greenwood Township, won a fifth term with 17,193 votes.

Sheriff Dave Powers, a Republican of Hayfield Township, won a second term with 17,329 votes.

In the race for Meadville City Council, Democrats Autumn Vogel and Larry McKnight, both incumbents, won re-election in a four-person race for two four-year terms. Vogel had with 1,582 votes followed by McKnight with 1,528 votes with Republicans Bill Lawrence third with 1,481 votes and Marcy Kantz, fourth with 1,426.

School boards Crawford Central

The numbers below are final official numbers for Crawford Central with all 17 precincts — 16 in Crawford County and one in Mercer County.

Vote totals for the five four-year seats are: Kevin G. Merritt, 4,384; Jeff Rose, 3,791; Monica Hargenrater, 3,573; Ed DeVore, 3,538; and Ron Irwin, 3,516, for the top five followed by Lisa Whitenack, 3,097; Shanna Hodgson, 2,939; Wallace G. Mason II, 2,829; and Bonnie Murphy, 2,683.

For the only two-year seat, Tammy Silvis won with 3,848 votes, beating Melissa Burnett, an incumbent board member, with 3,207 votes.

PENNCREST

The numbers below are final official numbers for PENNCREST with all 19 precincts reporting — 18 in Crawford County and one in Venango County.

Vote totals for the five four-year terms, are: Randy Styborski with 3,838; Allison Beers, 3,760; Michael Chausse, 3,096; Ryan Benek, 3,043; and Brian Custard, 3,034 for the top five, followed by Tiffany Donor, 2,930; David McWright, 2,919; and Scott Stallings, 2,841.

Chausse was the only incumbent board member among those seeking a four-year seat.

For the two PENNCREST twoyear seats, incumbents Tim Brown and David Valesky won in a threeway race.

Brown was first with 3,672 votes and Valesky second with 3,131, followed by Neil Bullock with 2,779.

Conneaut

Conneaut School Board, which elects by regions, only had a race in Region 2, the Conneaut Valley area.

In Region 2, the only was one seat up for election. Edward Williamson had 736 votes to Travis Crytzer’s 564 votes.

There were no contested races for Conneaut School Board in the district’s Region 1 and Region 3 areas.

In Region 1, the Linesville area, Tim McQuiston and David Schaef were the only two candidates for the two seats. McQuiston had 948 votes and Schaef 757 votes.

In Region 3, the Conneaut Lake area, Steven E. Nader and G.W. Hall were the only two candidates for the two seats. Nader had 1,056 votes and Hall with 1,002 votes.

Jamestown

Jamestown School Board had five candidates seeking election to one of four four-year terms.

The numbers below are final official numbers for Jamestown with all four precincts reporting — two in Crawford County and two in Mercer County.

Vote totals were: David J. Volosin, first with 583 votes; Rebecca Bercis, 552; Patrick J. Thomas, 550; and Adam Miller, 543, the top four; followed by Kelli S. Mayer, 540.

Volosin and Mayer were incumbent board members.
